Mbarara University Student Found Dead In Taso Village, Nyamitanga Division

Brian Akampurira, a 2nd-year medical student of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) was found dead 0n 17th October 2019.

The body of the deceased was found lying at the bridge connecting Taso and Katete village in nyamitanga division in the night.

According to friends, Brain was last seen in public at the university on Wednesday evening, returned to his rented room in Katete and later left to Holy Innocents hospital in Nyamitanga to check on his Aunt at around 8:00 p.m.

Basing on the information presented, it’s believed that on his way back from the hospital that’s when the incident that costed his life happened.

According to Police investigations, Swizen Tibesigwa the Mbarara police operations commander said, Akampurira’s body was found lying in Taso village near a lagoon.

 He says that the deceased could have been waylaid by thugs at a bridge connecting Taso village to Katete in Nyamitanga division on Thursday night on the way to his room. the body had signs of strangulation.
