Graduates of Mbarara University of Science and Technology

Mbarara University of Science and technology has announced the call for applications for August intake of the academic year 2019/2020.

But as students look forward to applying to courses of their choices, let us look at the fees structure for the different courses offered at this public university located in Western Uganda.

According to information from the office of the academic registrar, courses under the faculty of medicine are charged highly compared to courses in other faculties.

For example a Ugandan and a student from the East African Community studying Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery pays 1,344,000/= per semester on top of 520,000/= annual functional fees. While an International student (Those out side the East African Community) taking the same course pay 2,688,000/= as tuition for a semester plus 1,040,000/= as annual functional fees.

Diploma students pay between 560,000/= and 700,000/= as tuition fees per semester.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
i. Hold the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE)/O’ Level or its equivalent with a minimum of a pass in at least 5 subjects obtained at the same sitting.
ii. Hold the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE)/A’ Level with at least 2 principal passes or its equivalent obtained at the same sitting for applicants to a degree programme.
iii. Diploma holders should have at least a credit from an accredited institution.
iv. Degree holders should have an honors degree from an accredited degree awarding institution.
v. For applicants to Diploma programmes, hold the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE)/A’ Level with at least 1 principal pass and two subsidiary passes or its equivalent obtained at the same sitting.

Applicants should note that;
i. All academic documents presented must be from an accredited institution
ii. CASES OF IMPERSONATION, FALSIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS OR GIVING FALSE/
INCOMPLETE INFORMATION WHENEVER DISCOVERED WILL LEAD TO AUTOMATIC
CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION.
iii. Completed Applications must be accompanied with certified copies of academic documents
iv. Detailed information about the specific entry requirements for each programme can be obtained from the university website.
v. Applicants whose first language is not English or did not go through an education system with English as a medium of instruction will be required to provide evidence from a recognized English language training institution that they have sufficient command of English language to cope with the programmes.

APPLICATION FEES
Undergraduate Application Fees Ugandans & East African Community Applicants is Shs. 50,000/= while International Applicants are required to pay Shs. 100,000=

Postgraduate Application Fees Shs. 50,000= Shs. 100,000=

PhD Application Fees Shs. 100,000= for  Ugandans & East African Community Applicants and Shs. 200,000= International Applicants.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS
The deadline is 31st May 2019 for undergraduate and postgraduate courses while applications for PhD applicants are received throughout the year.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
All applications MUST be submitted online.
