MUST-UTAMU PhD students

New students under the MUST–UTAMU joint PhD program have been hosted to a 3 day research methodology workshop to acquire insights on various concepts of research, proposal writing, research designs and methodology.

The workshop kicked off on 6th and ended today 8th August 2014. The event took place at UTAMU Resource Centre in Kiswa, Bugolobi and was facilitated by Professors Henk G. Sol, Venansius Baryamureeba, Benon C. Basheka and Assoc. Prof. Dr. John Ngubiri and Dr. Johnson Mwebaze.

Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) partnered with UTAMU and developed a joint institutional capacity building programme that focuses on PhD training by research in a bid to address the educational gaps at doctoral levels in the East African region. This partnership was later joined by the University of Limpopo and the Human Sciences Research Council in South Africa in November last year.

Both institutions have hosted a series of workshops to facilitate PhD students to progress with their research projects. Areas of study under the MUST- UTAMU joint PhD collaboration include; Science, Computing, Public Administration, Economics, Management, Business Administration and Development studies.
