Manchester City have added another new name on their squad by agreeing a deal to sign MLS side Columbus Crew goalkeeper Zack Steffen.
Zack Steffen has been signed for undisclosed fee but is believed to be the highest fee paid to a goalkeeper in MLS club history.
Steffen hailed the move to Manchester City as intended to make him improve on new things and regarded this as a challenge.
‘Today’s announcement regarding next summer is a special moment for me and I look forward to finishing my time with this club on a strong note, he said in a statement to the club website.
‘I am eager to continue to put in the work to improve and be the best team-mate I can.‘
Columbus Crew’s interim general manager Pat Onstad regarded this as a historical transaction a good moment for both the player and the new club.
‘This is a historic transaction for the club and a special moment for Zack Steffen that we are immensely proud of’, he said
‘On behalf of the club, I would like to say that we couldn’t be happier for him. Manchester City Football Club is one of the top clubs in the world and we are pleased to finalise this agreement that benefits the player and both clubs.‘
