Full list of winners: From the onset, she was the fans favorite, expressing confidence and perfection in every activity she engaged in. Indeed, it was a matter of time before she could be crowned winner of the 2015 Miss Uganda beauty pageant.

Nakiyaga Zahara is a third-year student of bachelor of development studies at Makerere University.

The 23-year-old beat 20 other contestants to take home the Miss Uganda 2015/16 crown.

She was followed by Juliana Nabwowe and Engrid Wanyama as first and second runners-up respectively.

Nakiyaga walked away with Shs 4m from the ambassador of Djibouti, full-board accommodation for two at the Kampala Serena hotel for two nights, a sound system and a Toyota Raum registration number UAX 075P.

The reigning Miss Uganda Central was thankful to the people who voted the judges and all her fellow contestants.

“Thank you all for this opportunity,” she said before adding “I will use my reign to change lives of many people who are young and fresh to face the world.”

Nakiyaga will represent Uganda in the Miss World pageant that will be held in Sanya, China on December 19.
