Makerere university seems to be everyone’s pride and dream to study from. Given this fact, many high school students and parents keep wondering how much is charged per semester or for the different courses offered at this public university and the oldest of all public universities in Uganda.

In this article, The Campus Times looks at Makerere university fees structure for the academic year 2015/2015 for undergraduate students in the different colleges.

Undergraduate students studying a bachelor of Science in Dental Technology in the College of Health Sciences (CHS) pay 2,000,000/= per semester. This applies to Ugandan students, those from South Sudan and those coming from any East African country while students from outside this region (Internationals) are charged 3,500,000/= per semester.

The cheapest course in the College of Health Sciences, Bachelor of Environmental Health Sciences costs 1,050,000/= per semester for Ugandan Nationals and 1575,000/= for students coming from outside Uganda and E.Africa.

In the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CAES), the cheapest course goes for 700,000/= per semester. The highest is charged 1,344,000/= for Ugandan nationals and 2,340,000/= for International students.

Ugandan students studying courses under the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT) pay between 700,000/= and 1250,000/= while international students excluding those from E.African countries and South Sudan pay between 1,050,000/= and 2,020,000/= per semester.

At the College of Business and Management Sciences (COBAMS) the fees/ tuition ranges between 700,000/= and 1,150,000/= per semester for Uganda Nationals, E.African and students from South Sudan. For international students, tuition per semester in this college ranges between 1470,000/= and 3080,000/=.

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHUSS) is the cheapest of all colleges with the lowest course going for 630,000/= per semester and 980,000/= as the highest for students from E.Africa and South Sudan. Internationals pay between 945,000/= and 1,260,000/= per semester.
