Makerere university through BTI to transform Bunyoro-Kitara

The Bunyoro Transformation Initiative (BTI) has partnered with Makerere University through The Africa Institute for Strategic Animal Resource Services and Development (AFRISA), College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Biosecurity (CoVAB).His Highness Solomon Agutamba Iguru,the Omukama of Bunyoro-Kitara, is the patron of BTI and is spearheading the development for the people of Bunyoro.

To broaden its sphere of influence and take advantage of the University’s Knowledge Transfer Partnership and Networking cross-cutting factor, BTP will therefore provide a framework through which Makerere University and BTI will implement the skills, production, enterprise development and academic growth in Bunyoro sub-region.

To cement this partnership, His Highness Solomon Agutamba Iguru will on Thursday 15th May 2014 visit Makerere University and sign a Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of BTI.

Although Makerere university and BTI are currently the only BTP partners, others will be accepted if their mission and vision is in tandem with the development of Bunyoro.

The Bunyoro Transformation Initiative (BTI) is one such umbrella association bringing together religious, cultural and development oriented organizations in the Bunyoro sub region with a sole aim of spearheading economic, moral and social transformation in Bunyoro Kitara.

Registered on 26th September 2013, BTI is a Not-For Profit agency; a company limited by Guarantee and without share capital comprising of Bunyoro Kingdom, The Church of Uganda, The National Fellowship of Born-again Pentecostal Churches of Uganda and The Roman Catholic Church.

He previously worked as a journalist with Observer media and authored several articles and stories. He does research, video & audio recording, editing and production for online publication. He Participated in The New Dawn photography campaign aimed at rebranding Northern Uganda-USAID/NUTI Project (2010). Philimon is in love with photography, writing, reading, sharing new ideas and interacting with reasonable people for skills development.
