Miss Uganda 2023 pageant is on regional tours exploring the country’s beauties that will battle for the top prize next month.
While on the search in Northern Uganda, the pageant was blessed with many talents, among whom, Amviko Desire Diana from Makerere University emerged the winner.
The 20-year-old from Kitgum district outshone her competitors to take home the crown of Miss Uganda North 2023-2024.
Auditions and finals for this particular event were held on 12th January 2023 at Bomah Hotel in Gulu City.
Amviko is currently a student at Makerere University pursuing a Bachelor’s in Human Nutrition. Reading, writing, traveling, cooking, singing, and helping are her hobbies.
Her impressive display gave the judges no option but to rank her first out of the 14 finalists that were in Gulu.
The team of judges included Phiona Bizzu – Miss Uganda 2012, Petronela Acen – reigning Miss Uganda North, Letio Christine – Miss Uganda finalist 2012, Madi – Miss Uganda 2018, and Brenda Nanyonjo – CEO Miss Uganda.
Runners-up in the Miss Uganda North 2023-2024 edition included 22-year-old Lourine Winnifred Adyero from Gulu.
Winnifred is a student at Uganda Christian University (UCU), pursuing a Bachelors in Social Works. Her hobbies include cooking, traveling, dancing, and singing.
Ayot Judith, 24, also from Gulu came in third. She’s currently enrolled at Gulu University doing a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration. Dancing, watching animation, music, and swimming are some of her hobbies.
The newly selected Queen, Amviko Desire Diana, will replace Petronela Acen – the outgoing Miss Uganda North.
