Makerere University has set December 17, 2022, as the date for conducting the mature Age Entry scheme examinations for the 2023/24 academic year.
The university’s academic registrar, Alfred Masikye Namoah, announced this on Saturday (September 17).
The mature age entry is one of the various ways members of the public can use to join the university in case they failed to access admission through the direct entry of senior six results.
Students who score 50% and more qualify to join the university in various courses. However, those who fail still have an opportunity to apply next year.
To be eligible for the examinations, Namoah said the candidate must be at least 25 years old before August 1, 2022.
He also said the application forms for those intending to sit the examinations are issued at the university, room 505, senate building on payment of non-refundable application fees of shs200000.
This includes six past papers, excluding bank charges (paid in at any Stanbic bank branch, Dfcu, Post Bank, UBA, and Centenary Bank) after getting a payment registration number.
“all forms must be returned in person with evidence of payment of the application fees. The closing date for submitting the completed application forms is Friday 18, November 2022,” the brief statement said.
