Makerere University School of Law wins the 2018 African Moot Court competition

After seventeen (17) years of defeat, Makerere University’s School of Law have managed to win the 2018 African moot court champions again since 2001.

Makerere’s team that comprised of two other universities, University of Pretoria and Universite des Leganes of Côte d’Ivoire) beat other teams in reasoning the case for the Respondents.

The moot competition were held in the west African nation of Ghana and over 42 universities from Africa participated.

 The event was centred around the Right to Freedom from Torture and Human Trafficking as well as Rights of Older Persons.

In a tweet, Makerere Vice Chancellor Prof. Barnabus Nawangwe showed extreme gratitude towards the team of students for lifting the university’s flag up high.
