Makerere University has commenced calling for applications from Diploma holders who wish to further their studies and obtain the university degrees in different programmes under government sponsorship scheme.
According to the information from the university academic registrar Alfred Masikye, the offer shall be granted to applicants not exceeding five percent of the intake capacity,
“Makerere University invites applications from Diploma Holders only for admission under the Government Sponsorship Scheme not exceeding 5% of the intake capacity to University Degree programmes,” he stated.
Eligibility of the applicant to acquire this opportunity should posses at least a credit or Second Class or equivalent Diploma in relevant fields from a recognized Institution plus a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least five passes and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least one Principal pass and two subsidiary passes at the same sitting or it’s equivalent.
Before submitting a system generated application form, the applicants will as well be required to pay a non- refundable application fee of shs. 50,000 plus the bank charge using Payment Reference Number (PRN) paid to any bank used by Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).
The system generated application can be obtained from the Admissions Office, Room 315 Level 3, Senate Building.
On application, the applicants must attach Certified copies of their Diploma transcripts from the awarding institutions and a their birth certificates.
The closing date for returning the system generated application forms to the university is Friday, July 29, 2022.
