Makerere University Finally gets New Deputy Vice Chancellors

Makerere University has decide on Dr Umar Kakumba as the 1st Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs) and Prof. William Bazeyo as the 2nd Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance and Administration).

This followed a long hunt  for  the most eligible candidates and sessions of presentations from selected individuals.

The newly elects were appointed by the University Chancellor, Prof. Ezra Suruma basing on the recommendation from the University Council.

Prof. Suruma issued instruments of appointment on Thursday November 15, 2018.

In his congratulatory message to the winners,Makerere University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe  said Dr Umar Kakumba and Prof. William Bazeyo have a makerere spirit

“I have worked with both of them, and I know that they love their alma mater-Makerere University. Their career and life path is testimony of that alumnus and member of staff who has effectively utilised their knowledge, skill, talent and resources to diligently serve Makerere University. Congratulations,” said Nawangwe.
