Makerere University Fees Defaulters Risk Missing out on Graduation

According to the Makerere Universty Vice Chancellor, , Prof Barnabas Nawangwe , students who have not paid off their university dues and requirements will not graduate.

“I wish to clarify that only candidates who satisfied all graduation requirements within the stipulated time frames will graduate. The requirements include clearance of all outstanding fees, graduation fee among others, ” said prof. Nawangwe.

Printing of transcripts for some students is complete. However, tuition defaulters will not receive their transcripts until they pay the balances to zero.

A total of 13, 299 students are set to graduate at the Makerere University 69th graduation ceremony slated.

The graduation ceremony will be conducted in series starting from 15th to 18th  January 2019.

According to Academic Registrar, Mr Alfred Masikye, only 368 students will graduate with First Class honors.

The graduation timeline as released by the university management on December 21 is as below
