Liverpool Beat Manchester United 7-0 in an epic Anfield Win

Liverpool thrash Manchester United as Mohamed Salah breaks records in one of Premier League’s biggest drubbings.

Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, and Mohamed Salah share six goals before Roberto Firmino adds seventh as Liverpool beat Manchester United at Anfield.

Salah is now Liverpool’s record PL goalscorer. He became the first Liverpool player to score in six consecutive appearances in all competitions against Manchester United.

Salah scored his 128th and 129th goals in the Premier League for Liverpool, overtaking Robbie Fowler as the club’s leading goalscorer in the competition’s history.

United wasted some chances in the first half with Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford missing good opportunities but two quick goals early in the second half triggered a rout as United collapsed.

It was unthinkable before the game, or even at the break, but Liverpool started with real urgency, pressing hard for the first goal with Salah leading the way and Andy Robertson attacking down the left but it took a while for the home side to create clear chances.

When Casemiro’s header was ruled out for a clear offside, momentum seemed to be with the visitors having ridden the storm and the luck, but Gakpo’s intervention changed that. Slipped in by Robertson, he cut inside to finish fiercely into the far corner. Anfield erupted.

Salah was behind the third goal, making Martinez look foolish on the wing before sneaking a pass-through for Gakpo to finish skillfully again. Liverpool was in the groove, confidence flowing through the team, and the energy that had seemed lost was now restored.

Salah scored Liverpool’s fourth goal on a fast break after Nunez’s run led to a lucky bounce, the Egyptian smashing the ball into the top of De Gea’s goal. United was stunned, Liverpool wanted more.

I think it’s a huge difference because at Brentford we were 4-0 down at half-time. Today, we were the better team in the first half. In the first half, we created the better chances, we had two one-on-ones with the goalkeeper, they didn’t.
