A total of 1269 students have been awarded loans under the students loan scheme that was launched early this year.
2,109 had applied for the student loans and Kampala International university took the highest slots out of the 1269 awarded.

Mbarara University of Science and Technology 79
Uganda Christian University 44
Uganda Martyrs University 34
Islamic University in Uganda 13
Bugema University 9.
Only students in theĀ 13 public and private chartered universities were granted the loans.
The students loan scheme is financing students studying science related courses at the moment thought plans are underway to also include the arts students in the future.
