Kyambogo University is exploiting sublime measures to demystify its academic operations.
Among these is diversifying the expertise amongst the teaching staff of over 1,700 to include international professors from the Caribbean island of Cuba.
The development was strengthened during the visit of the Cuban representative to Uganda, H.E Dr. Tania Perez Xiques whilst at Kyambogo University.
“We were privileged to host the Ambassador of Cuba to Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya H.E Dr. Tania Perez Xiques as she was being updated by the Vice Chancellor @EliKatunguka on the progress of recruitment of Cuban Professors to provide expertise in different academic disciplines,” Kyambogo University updated.
The visit was as well confirmed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Eli Katunguka hinting on the areas that need the Cuban touch.
“Today Kyambogo university hosted the new Cuban ambassador to Uganda to discuss recruitment of Cuban professors in the areas of engineering, science and education. We had fruitful discussions,” Prof. Katunguka tweeted.
Earlier this year, Professor Eli Katunguka, while in the Consultative meeting with the Deans of Faculties/Schools/Institute said that in order to become a Centre of academic and professional excellence, restructuring would be a leverage point.
He also noted that a lot has changed in addition to the massive growth of the university, which necessitated the restructuring.
