Kyambogo university staff shun Kayihura's appeal to resume work

Kyambogo University staff  resolved to shun Gen Kale Kayihura’s  appeal that they resume work immediately as negotiations to solve the grievances between the staff and Prof. Isaiah Omolo Ndiege continue .

Kayihura is mediating negotiations between Kyambogo vice chancellor, Prof Isaiah Omolo Ndiege and the executive of the staff following the ongoing strike at the second largest public university in Uganda.

Kyambogo university staff laid down their tools after the University Council directed Prof. Isaiah Omolo Ndiege to resume duty, in accordance with the recent high court ruling.

The council had earlier on appealed to the staff to call off their strike and reconcile their differences with Prof Ndiege.  But the staff want Prof Ndiege out of Kyambogo university.

They accuse Ndiege of mismanaging Kyambogo university, failing to respect the governing council and staff.
