Kyambogo university graduation pushed to next year

Graduates at the graduation ceremony cheering up their academic success

Finalists of Kyambogo university have to wait for a while to cerebrate their academic success. This is because the long awaited graduation ceremony that was set for 19th and 20th this month has been postponed to February next year.

The exact date is yet to be communicated.

But Prof. Omolo Isaiah Ndiege, Kyambogo university Vice Chancellor says extending the graduation is a punishment to those students who urgently need their academic transcripts because they have completed their studies and need the papers to secure jobs.

There are allegations that some administrators want the graduation postponed to next year because they don’t want Prof. Ndeige to preside over the function as a Vice Chancellor.

Prof Ndeige’s contract expires on 11th January 2014.

“I applied to vend graduation gowns within campus and today was supposed to be the starting date… I went to Block 2 room 11 to pick my tag and letter and I’ve been told Graduation was pushed to Feb… Its always like that in Public Universities the students have to suffer whenever the big Men want to fulfill their own interests…. Bloodclat” ,  a frustrated Kyambogo university finalist posted on his face book wall
