KCCA Extends Boda Boda Registration for 2 weeks

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has extended Bodaboda registration operating in Kampala for two weeks.

The deputy resident city commissioner for Rubaga division in Kampala Anderson Burora said the registration centers had been overwhelmed with the high turnout of cyclists. So far, over 40,000 bodaboda riders have been registered.

“We found itself shooting those learners are returning to schools and we are bringing down the modest means of transportation,” Anderson said.

According to Burora, 45000 out of the estimated 400,000 boda boda operators have been registered in Kampala.

The ongoing registration aims at slashing Boda Bodas from over 20000 to 7000 at stages and outside free zones  in Kampala.

In January, 2022, the government announced that all boda bodas operating in Kampala be registered to ensure organization amidst the smart City campaign. The exercise was extended in March to September 01, 2022.
