In a bid to fighting unemployment, Kampala International University (KIU) has set up a center (Business Incubation Centre (BIC)) to promote and encourage self-employment among youth.
Business Incubation Centre (BIC) was established at the Iddi Basajjabalaba Memorial Library (IML), at the main campus-Kansanga.
This idea is aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment among the youth but also contributing to the community for the betterment of the young generation.
“the business incubation Centre will provide basic infrastructure and allied facilities for researchers and young entrepreneurs who are interested in developing early-stage business ventures” said Dr. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo
He added that the centre is an independent setup that will support new and startup ideas of the students in their initial development stage by providing an array of targeted resources and services.
KIU believes that the center will soon start contributing to the economic growth of the country by generating employment and aiding in the creation of small and medium start-up companies.
