Kabale University organized a one day orientation workshop for both old and new staff members on Wednesday July 19th 2017.
The workshop was aimed at giving information to new staff about the university’s establishment and also introduce guidelines and structures in which Ministry of Public Service operates from.
The the Vice-Chancellor Professor Joy. C. Kwesiga highlighted to the staff the history of Kabale University, the Mission and Vision, core values, code of conduct, governance and policy documents.
The Assistant Commissioner Ministry of Public Service, Mr. Davis Malowa was the main Facilitator of the workshop. He highlighted on the key duties expected of Staff members as public servants.
Other topics discussed included Channels of Communication, Quality Assurance, Policy on Academic growth, Human Resources, Staff welfare, and University support services (ICT, library and Finance).
She appreciated the old Staff Members for the dedicated services and in particular those who stood firm and continued serving during the difficult transition times.
Kabale University is the first private University in Uganda to be transformed into a public University.
Kabale University was formerly established as a public University on the 16th of July 2015.
