Kabaka Mutebi II Scholarship and Awards

This is Kabaka Mutebi’s initiative that was started in 2011 to encourage his subjects exercise environmental friendly practices, and also lead others towards environmental conservation, art, and culture like Buganda was known for so many years of our ancestors. This program is supported by the Kabaka Foundation and it involves awarding of study scholarships to children/students with strong values and commitment to environmental conservation and community service at county level in all the 18 counties of Buganda Kingdom, and Kabaka Mutebi awards given to adults who excel within their counties. For any one to win this scholarship/award, he/she must have demonstrated ability to successfully mobilize people and provide leadership in environmental advocacy and community work
Eligibility for Education Scholarships:

  • Eligible to children/students of between 14 – 25 years.
  • Ugandans currently residing in Uganda.
  • The scholarship is restricted to applicants enrolled at any institution world over.
  • Ability to demonstrate the environmental conservation project(s) and community efforts one has started or has been involved in and how these initiatives have impacted on people in his/her community, environmental status and sustainability, and the culture of community service among masses for sustainable community amidst meager resources.

Eligibility for Kabaka Mutebi II Awards:

  • Eligible to adults of 18 years and above.
  • Ugandans currently residing in Buganda Kingdom
  • The award is restricted to persons whose environmental conservation and community service efforts are being done or have been done in any of the 18 counties of Buganda Kingdom.
  • Ability to demonstrate the environmental conservation project(s) and community efforts one has started or has been involved in and how these initiatives have impacted on people in his/her community, environmental status and sustainability, and the culture of community service among masses for sustainable community amidst meager resources.
