Job Title: Warehouse Officer

Job Summary: The Warehouse Officer is responsible for providing support and to assist the Warehouse Supervisor to perform inventory control duties by receiving / releasing, inspecting, documenting, and recording all job site materials movements. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for performing inventory duties of receiving inspecting and releasing materials that have been requested for as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively coordinates receiving, documentation, storage, and shipping of materials.
- Checks freight bills and purchase orders against the physical shipment, inspects shipments to ensure all contents are contained and no damage has occurred during shipment, and contacts vendor if a discrepancy is identified.
- Coordinates and supervises offloading of shipments.
- Inventories receipts against purchase orders and shipping documents. Files receipt documentation.
- Photographs damage to materials, documents overages and shortages and tags materials with purchase orders.
- Quickly report all rejected purchased materials to the Warehouse Supervisor and subsequently to the responsible vendor who has supplied/delivered the materials if they do not conform to the requirements as stipulated by the Purchase order.
- Maintains a shipping / receiving log with daily entries.
- Places materials in proper storage locations according to storage and handling lists; initiates storage change forms and documents new storage locations.
- Work in liaison with the Warehouse Supervisor to identify and record any expired/obsolete stock
- Cleans, organizes, and maintains warehouse assuring that all inventories are stored securely and neatly placed throughout the warehouse.
- Prepares and issues materials to authorized personnel as indicated on work orders and stores requisition form through outside logistic company vendors.
- Codes inventory transfers to proper accounts or projects and tasks
- Performs weekly cycle counts and annual physical inventories to verify inventory counts
- Compiles and sends reports as required by the Ware house supervisor
- Support the Supervisor in ensure proper and timely disposal of assets as per procedure and Policy and NEMA guidelines
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Warehouse Officer should preferably hold a Degree in procurement and Logistics or equivalent
- Two or more years’ experience in warehousing
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) skills
- Strong Planning and organizational skills
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite. Oracle is preferred.
- Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
- Possess the ability to operate a forklift preferred
- Ability to work in a high volume time sensitive environment.
