Aga Khan Education Services (AKES) currently operates over 200 schools and advanced educational programmes that provide quality pre-school, primary, secondary, and higher secondary education services to students in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Kenya, the Kyrgyz Republic, Uganda, Tanzania, and Tajikistan.
Job Summary: The Aga Khan Teachers for the Uganda National Curriculum at Secondary, Primary & Nursery will mainly tutor and guide students as assigned in the following subjects:
Job Ref No: HR/001/07/14 Economics/ Geography, Secondary Level
Job Ref No: HR/002/07/14 French, Secondary Level
Job Ref No: HR/003/07/14 Maths, English, Science, Lower Primary Level
Job Ref No: HR/004/07/14 Maths and English, Learning Support Unit
Job Ref No: HR/005/07/14 Literacy and Numeracy, Nursery
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicants must hold Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education, or specialist subject (+ PGCE)
  • Any further professional qualification will be considered an added advantage
  • Detailed knowledge and sensitivity to students of diverse cultures and different learning approaches
  • A minimum of five years’ previous teaching experience of Uganda Primary School Curriculum(Primary 1- 7)
  • At least 3 years previous teaching experience of Early Childhood Education for Nursery School positions (Ages 3 – 5 years).
  • The applicants must be highly self-motivated and committed teachers, with a proven strong track-record of academic achievement.
Language proficiency: Fluent in both spoken and written English
