Job Title: Social Media Internship Opportunity

TRIBE is a social business that lives for fashion, freedom, and the beauty of being women. Founded by two young fashion-forward American women who currently live in Uganda, Africa, the business model incorporates handmade jewelry to promote and grow social entrepreneurships while aiming to inspire women across the globe.

TRIBE jewelry is an affordable line that is made by women in Uganda who are encouraged to express themselves through their jewelry making abilities.

Job Summary:  The TRIBE Social Media Guru should be highly entrepreneurial, energetic and ambitious spirit who is passionate about LIFE and eager to inspire women across the globe to live lives they love. TRIBE girls want to show the world what Africa is REALLY about – vibrant colors, exotic shapes, and ENERGY! And you are ready to put your photography and social media skills to use.

You are stoked about the idea of working for a start-up and ready to be a part of something that the world has not yet seen. You’ll work alongside the Marketing Director, but you’ll get an insane amount of authority in being the CREATIVE MASTERMIND behind all social media and marketing efforts. You LOVE being in the mix of things and are not scared to take initiative and work with people of diverse cultures. You’re ready to research, plan and brainstorm the most innovative, creative, and effective ways for life in Uganda and TRIBE jewels to be captured in a unique, fashionable and exciting way.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Draft and gather all social media content (including photos) by being mad creative and getting the most awesome behind–the-scenes goodness of what actually goes down in Africa.
  • Live, eat and breathe what will work on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and Pinterest and manage our content on all of these platforms.
  • Intuitively interact with all our fellow TRIBE girls on all social media platforms.
  • Use graphic design skills to create posts.
  • Types of things we want you to capture will include; Posts of product, Posts of life in Uganda and posts of the women we work with.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate should possess a good University degree in a relevant field
  • Fashion-forward trend-setter
  • Live, eat and breathe social media
  • Possess a high level of Creativity
  • Past experience in the fashion industry
  • Be a Skilled photographer
  • Past experience using social media professionally and developing social media strategies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a fun, professional personality
  • Possess the ability to draft content that reflects the “TRIBE” persona
  • Experienced with smart-phone and smart-phone apps
  • The applicant should ideally be an “always online person”, glued to social media platforms
  • Proven ability to excel in a rapidly-involving, entrepreneurial environment with Minimal Supervision and still can produce insanely awesome results.
  • Flexible and open-minded, energetic and self-motivated
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Passion for working in diverse cultures and with women
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Graphic Design Skills
  • Innovative and creative approach to social media and marketing
  • Possess a Unique eye for fashion and design, photos and funky/edgy inspirational quotes!
