Job Title: Principal Tutor
Mildmay Uganda is an HIV/AIDS treatment and training centre also providing Health Systems Strengthening to scale up comprehensive HIV/AIDS Services in 16 districts of Central Uganda. It is situated on Entebbe Road, Lweza, south of Kampala, Uganda.
Job Summary:
The Mildmay Principal Tutor will be the academic and administrative head of the Miidmay Uganda School of Medical Laboratory Technology and will manage it in a manner that ensures academic excellence, efficient use of resources and the welfare of students/staff, in line with Mildmay Uganda, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Sports and relevant national/international policies and guidelines.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Principal Tutor should hold a Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology/Medical Laboratory Sciences with post graduate diploma in Medical Education
- Or A Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology with Bachelors Degree in Medical Education
- He/she must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals’ Council with a current APL
- At least three years’ experience in teaching.
- Past exposure and experience in managing an academic programme will be an added advantage.
- Computer literacy skills i.e. Proficiency in various MS office packages
- Working knowledge of English and local language(s) are crucial.
- Hard working, trust-worthy, and holding the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality.
- Must be flexible, reliable
- Evidence of non-judgemental approach regarding race, religion, culture, sexuality and lifestyle is critical.
- Ability to work under pressure: and in sympathy with the Christian values of Mildmay Uganda.
