Job Title: Public Relations Assistant-Stakeholder Management

National Medical Stores is an autonomous Corporation that was established by an Act of Parliament 1993. Our mandate is to procure, store and distribute medicines and other medical supplies to public health facilities in Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and implement the Corporation’s Stakeholder Management Plan.
  • Ensure that stakeholders’ engagement strategies are recognized as partners in delivery of NMS mandate
  • Foster and maintain strong relations with Key stakeholders.
  • Manage the measurement of stakeholder satisfaction with performance of NMS.
  • Advise management on issues and risks to stakeholder relations as soon as they arise so that risks are managed.
  • Continually and proactively identify all stakeholders of NMS.
  • Identify stakeholder interests and categorize them accordingly.
  • Continually monitor and identify changing stakeholder interests, and advise management accordingly.
  • Create a plat form for stakeholder management meetings.
  • Create awareness of the functions of NMS to all its stakeholders.
  • Manage Social media to respond to stakeholders concerns.
  • Manage stakeholder dynamics and provide possible solutions.
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder networks.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold an honours bachelor’s degree in journalism, mass communication or public relations or in the alternative; an honours bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and a minimum of a certificate in diplomacy, international relations, journalism, mass communication, public relations or public administration.
  • A minimum of two (2) years working experience in a people related field such as Public Relations, Customer Care, Human Resource or Marketing.
  • Possess a positive attitude towards work and be proactive in approach.
  • Broad grasp of key strategic issues facing NMS.
  • Possess excellent advocacy skills to sell the mandate of NMS to external audiences.
