Job Title: Lecturer in Public Procurement
Uganda Management Institute (UMI) is a Management Development Institution with a mission “To Excel in Developing Practical and Sustainable Administration, Leadership and Management Capacity”. It provides management training, consultancy and research services in response to the demands of the public, private, and NGO sectors. In addition to short performance improvement management skills development courses, the Institute offers high quality career development management courses at Certificate, Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma and Higher Degree Levels. The Institute’s activities are currently carried out at the main campus in Kampala and its Outreach Centers in Mbarara, Gulu and Mbale.
Job Summary: The Public Procurement Lecturer wil be designing and delivering quality and appropriate administrative management courses, carrying out relevant research and consultancies in administrative management for personal growth and development and contributing to the world of academia in administrative management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Developing high quality graduate-level training programmes
- Marketing UMI training programmes
- Developing world-class training materials and case studies
- Facilitating on training programmes of the Institute
- Evaluating the impact of training given to participants
- Carrying out research and publish.
- Performing out consultancy services to UMI Clients.
- Supervising graduate students carrying out research projects as part of their training.
- Developing high quality customized short and long courses for practitioners and academicians
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Respective Heads of Department.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Lecturer must hold a PhD in a field of study relevant to the position applied for is mandatory to all applicants.
- Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) and Master’s Degree from a recognized University/ Institution. The qualifications should be in a field of study relevant to the position applied for.
- Applicants possessing relevant full professional qualifications will have an added advantage.
- At least two years’ teaching experience at postgraduate level in a higher Institution of learning.
- Evidence of publications in recognized journal/books will be of added advantage.
- Evidence of pedagogical skills possession at post-graduate level will be of added advantage.
Age: 30 years and above
