Job Title: Consultant Knowledge Capture Specialist/Graphic Facilitator

The QED Group, LLC is a full-service international development firm that provides practical solutions to social problems through sound analysis, proven management techniques, and creative implementation.

We focus our efforts on two core practice areas: Monitoring & Evaluation and Knowledge Management. We work with U.S. agencies and overseas governments, international donors, private-sector clients, and PVOs/NGOs in more than 80 countries around the world. Key clients include USAID, the U.S. Department of State, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency.

About USAID Project:
The USAID/Uganda Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning project (Learning Contract) is the five-year organizational program support vehicle through which USAID/Uganda will pursue realizing its development objectives within the complicated and shifting Ugandan development context.  The purpose of the Learning Contract is to provide monitoring, evaluation and learning support services and build capacity of USAID/Uganda to implement USAID’s Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting methodology to strengthen the implementation of USAID/Uganda’s Country Development Cooperation Strategy and enhance USAID’s organizational effectiveness.
Job Summary: The Consultant Knowledge Capture Specialist/Graphic Facilitator will offer knowledge capture support to teams/departments using creative, illustrative and inspirational methods. He/ she will also represent ideas and learning using graphic and/or other visual communication approaches. The incumbent will technically support the creation of interactive spaces/environments for learning and knowledge sharing using artistic design and scene-setting techniques.  The jobholder will provide advice on the use of non-text, cutting—edge approaches to documentation and idea presentation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide training/orientation on the use of art/graphic facilitation techniques to support knowledge capture and learning in organizational settings
  • Enable comprehensive documentation of program review and reflection sessions using visual recording and reporting techniques
  • Technically support the mapping of organizational knowledge and ideas from a variety of artistic perspectives
  • Advise/provide guidance on the use of visual stories to improve organizational communication abilities
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
  • A minimum of ten years’ facilitation experience, with a specific focus on creative documentation, artistic expression and design of highly interactive learning environments
  • Demonstrated expertise in the use of cutting-edge communication strategies and/or the use of art as a knowledge capture tool in organizations
  • Experience working with international development/affairs organizations and/or in developing country contexts; donor agency experience a plus
  • Strong track record of developing attractive, comprehensive and actionable knowledge and communication products
