Job Title: IT & Procurement Officer
Action Against Hunger (ACF) is an international humanitarian Non profit Organization (INGO). For over thirty years it has been implementing Food Security and Livelihoods; Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programs in Lira, Apac, Oyam, Otuke, Gutu, Kaabong, Napak and Moroto Districts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain the network in good condition (software and hardware),
- Draft aid and update the network user book
- Write network procedures and to keep them up to date
- Responsible for Computer maintenance (Hardware and software); Installation, maintenance, follow up and equipment file update
- Ensure proper functioning of periodic back up in Kampala office computers
- Offer support and guidance to base logs/HOB for implementation of backup system in bases
- Ensure that the ACF authorized anti-virus is updated on all computers,
- Ensure that ACF has all the licenses for each software used on the mission
- Manage the allocation and use of the equipments
- Ensure installation, maintenance and repair of the equipments
- Update the capital equipment fist
- Register all newly bought equipment in the standard ACF Excel sheet, open the equipment file and provide labels for the equipment
- Ascertain that all communication equipment and system are working on the mission
- Provide technical support to the base on regular basis to check on all IT and/or communication equipment and in case of emergency
- Train staff in computer basic management: anti-virus update, anti-virus usage, disk cleaning, disk maintenance and provide ongoing support, advice and backup.
- Perform procurement activities following and respecting to ACF procurement procedures according to thresholds and standards and best value for money.
- Ensure the update of the catalogue (price list) on quarterly basis through regular quotations or call for interests
- Regularly update the Procurement follow up (PFU) and send to bases and departments every Friday before business closing time.
- Coordinate with finance department to ensure timely payment of suppliers.
- Track the outstanding payments to suppliers and notify the admin department on a weekly basis
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must possess a first degree in information Technology or related discipline
- At least two years’ relevant experience.
- Excellent knowledge on both software (word processor, spreadsheet, Linux servers, Windows and hardware (network cards, memory upgrades)
- Extensive knowledge in radio communication and programming and procurement skill
- Fluent English;
- Good management, communication, teamwork spirit, capacity building and report writing;
- Possess the ability to work independently when necessary, set realistic goals, and work within agreed timelines.
- Ability to communicate and perform within an international and multicultural team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to support, motivate, and train staff.
