Job Description: An enrolled nurse works under the direction and supervision of registered nurses, to assist with the provision of acute, preventative, curative and rehabilitative nursing care in hospitals, aged-care facilities, the community and other healthcare settings.
Key Responsibilities include;
– Assisting with initial and ongoing health assessments and the maintenance of patients’ health
– Observing, measuring and recording patients’ conditions (their temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure and blood sugar levels, for example)
– Reporting changes in patients’ conditions
– Attending to patients’ hygiene and comfort by assisting with bathing, showering, dressing and bed-making
– Assisting patients with meals when required
– Assisting patients with rehabilitation exercises and programmes
– Assisting in the care of wounds
– Assisting in emergency situations
– Assisting in providing education on health and lifestyle issues
– Maintaining a safe environment for patients and assist with the prevention of injuries.
Position Requirements
– Applicants should have an average of two (2) years work experience
– Should be tolerant, patient and tactful when dealing with people of different backgrounds, ages and cultures
– Should be able to follow instructions precisely
– Should be able to work as part of a team
– Should be able to cope with the physical and psychological demands of the job
– Should be able to solve problems and make decisions
