Job Title: Community Development Facilitator – Nutritionist

World Vision Uganda is a Christian Relief, Development and Advocacy Non-Government Organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice in over 40 districts of Uganda. World Vision is committed to the protection of children and does not employ people whose background is not suitable for working with children. Job Summary: The Community Development Facilitator-Nutrition will support the MNCH Project by working closely with people of different orientation and background to coordinate all project activities at the cluster level and monitoring progress towards achievement of targets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Steer the roll out of the MNCH projects in the Project site by ensuring that the projects are using the most appropriate innovative and cost effective technologies.
  • Offer necessary technical guidance to system’s partners during the course of the project
  • Oversee, and supervise all core interventions at the lower level with in the DIP
  • Ensure that all MNCH and other related deliverables are achieved according to the detailed implementation plan.
  • Supervise the rollout of the MNCH data collection process at the community and health facility level
  • Work in liaison with the health staff and program development team in the roll out of baseline surveys and evaluation of the project as required
  • Significantly contribute to the preparation of quality monthly, quarterly and annual project progress reports for  submission on to the support office and the donor.
  • Prepare for and participate in evaluation of the project when required
  • Participates in meetings and contribute to organization development
  • Liaise with development agencies and partners on collaborative work related to MNCH and other initiatives to position World Vision as a strategic partner in mhealth landscape

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The Community Development Facilitator-Nutrition should hold a good University Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and or Food Science technology
  • At least two years’ experience of working in the area of  Nutrition, MNCH and health care
  • Working knowledge of cost effective Community Nutrition practices
  • Good knowledge of public health system and structures
  • Extensive knowledge and exposure of MNCH methodologies and other related approaches
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and counseling skills.
  • A mature and committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities
  • Demonstrated commitment to World Vision’s mission statement and Core Values
