Jobs at the National Information Technology Authority

The Ministry of Information and Communications Technology of the Republic of Uganda and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Arab Republic of Egypt have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in Information and Communication Technologies.

As part of the collaboration, the Government of Uganda intends to undertake a series of training for trainers who will in turn train the required pool of skilled citizens to enable them participate in the growing Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)/IT Enabled Services (ITES) industry globally.

The BPO Programme in Uganda is premised on one of the strategic objectives of Government which emphasize the use of ICT to create jobs and improve livelihoods of the youth in the country.
The National Information Technology Authority-Uganda (NITA-U) will partner with the Information Technology Institute of Egypt to conduct the first session of the BPO Training of Trainers Programme in Kampala in May 2014. The training will be delivered by expert industry trainers from Egypt, who have delivered similar trainings across the globe and will equip the trainees with BPO specific skills that are vital for active and productive participation in the industry.
NITA-U now invites eligible and interested candidates to submit their applications to the undersigned not later than 18th April 2014.
Target Candidates:
BPO/ITES companies; contact/call centres; Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies; and universities and tertiary institutions.
Training Duration:
The training is full-time and will last for one month.
Requirements:
1. The trained candidates will be required to train BPO agents in future whenever called upon by Government. In the short term, they will be expected to conduct BPO training within their respective institutions;
2. This training is funded jointly by the Governments of Uganda and Egypt but each participant will be required to contribute 200,000/= towards refreshments and logistics during the training period;

3. Applicants are required to possess a University degree qualification from a reputable institution. Detailed information and application form can be obtained at http://www.nita.go.ug
4. Envelopes with applications should clearly be marked with “Application for TOT Programme” and addressed to the undersigned.
