Job Title:Management Information Systems Officer
The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) was establishment after The Accountants Statute No. 12, now the Accountants Act, Cap. 266 of the Laws of Uganda, 2000, was enacted in August 1992. ICPAU is the national professional accountancy body in Uganda, established by an act of Parliament. The Accountants Act, 2013 gives the Institute a legal mandate to:
- Regulate and maintain the Standard of Accountancy in Uganda.
- Prescribe and regulate the conduct of accountants and practicing accountants in Uganda.
- This includes conducting professional accountancy examinations in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Management Information Systems Officer will be responsible for efficient operation and management of the Institute’s ICT facilities and systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop the Institute’s ICT systems.
- Oversee the Institute’s website, databases and networks.
- Specify, recommend and install ICT software and equipment.
- Ensure that reliable services are received from the ICT service providers.
- Offer technical ICT support and basic training to staff.
- Render support in the procurement of ICT software and equipment.
- Promote use of ICT tools and visibility of the Institute.
- Actively participate in the running of the Institute’s events and functions.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should possess a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or information Systems or Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- Professional certification related to computer programming and website development will be an added advantage.
- Skills and proficiency in SQL and PHP/C#
- Excellent Database Administration Skills with MySQL and SQL Server.
- Good website development with any of the following frameworks: Joomla, CakePHP, YII, NET
- Possess the ability to integrate software modules developed in different programming languages
- Excellent Unix/Linux administration will be an added advantage.
- Programming work done or public websites developed in the past two years will be considered but is not essential.
