Job Title: Librarian/Administrator and Principal Tutor
Mildmay Uganda is an HIV/AIDS treatment and training centre also providing Health Systems Strengthening to scale up comprehensive HIV/AIDS Services in 16 districts of Central Uganda. 1. Job Title: Principal Tutor

Directorate: Training and Education

Reports to: Director Training and Education

Job Summary:

The position holder will be the academic and administrative head of the Mildmay Uganda School of Medical Laboratory Technology and will manage it in a manner that ensures academic excellence, efficient use of resources and the welfare of students/staff, in line with Mildmay Uganda, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Sports and relevant national/international policies and guidelines.

Job Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology/Medical Laboratory Sciences with post graduate diploma in Medical Education or diploma in Education Or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology with Bachelors Degree in Medical Education He/she must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals’ Council with a current APL and have a minimum of 3 years experience in teaching. Experience in managing an academic programme is an added advatage.

2. Job Title: Librarian/Administrator

Directorate: Training and Education

Reports to: Academic Programmes Manager

Job Summary:

The position holder will be responsible for providing Library services for Mug staff and student clientele, ensuring that Library functions run smoothly, materials are current, accessible, and available to students and other Library users. He/she will also provide administrative support to the training department for the smooth running of training activities.

Job Requirements:

A Bachelors Degree in Library and information science with at least 2 years experience in library services. The successful candidate must have experience working in Institutions of higher learning and the ability to operate an E-Library.

Other qualities are:Good communication and interpersonal skills, Proficiency in various MS office packages and working knowledge of English and local language(s) are crucial. Hard working, trust-worthy, and holding the highest levels of integrity and confi dentiality. Must be flexible, reliable, able to work under pressure; and in sympathy with the Christian values of Mildmay Uganda. Evidence of a non-judgemental approach regarding race, religion, culture, sexuality and lifestyle is critical.

Philimon Badagawa is a multimedia journalist with skills in news gathering, packaging, editing and online publishing. He has knowledge in data visualization, can design and manage websites. He previously worked as a journalist with Observer media and authored several articles and stories. He does research, video & audio recording, editing and production for online publication. He Participated in The New Dawn photography campaign aimed at rebranding Northern Uganda-USAID/NUTI Project (2010). Philimon is in love with photography, writing, reading, sharing new ideas and interacting with reasonable people for skills development.
