Job Title: Security Officer
Igara Growers Tea Factory Ltd, located 12Kms on Ishaka – Kasese Higway, is a smallholder farmers’ owned tea processing company incorporated in 1969. It employs hundreds of people in both its estates and the 2 processing plants. It is managed by Uganda Tea Development Agency Limited with head office in Kampala.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processing all Security matters within the scope of factory management for both Igara and Buhweju Tea Factories
- Coordinate and liaise security matters with our local Security firm, management and external security agencies
- Inspect and ensure normal functioning of factory security systems, facilities, lighting and fencing
- Regularly cross-check receipt and issuance of factory stores and ensure proper authorization and use at different destinations are being observed and adhered to
- Work closely with all departments to ensure proper security operations requirements are provided and monitored
- Responsible for systematic recording and verification of made tea stocks on a weekly basis and proper tea dispatch procedures are followed and correct quantities and quality of teas are released.
- Investigate and prepare reports on irregularities, incidents and or suspicious activities that could result in security breach
- Manage safety precautions in place that may affect person and property of the companies including fire precautions
- Intuitively check and ensure safety of all factory assets within the factory premises and its other properties
- Make follow upon cases reported to police and other external law enforcement agencies
- Compile and prepare monthly reports on all security aspects of the factories
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants should possess degrees or the minimum qualification of a diploma in any relevant field.
- Previous experience in any security agency or firm is a must
- Past exposure and experience in management of security in companies will be an added advantage
- Possess investigative skills and training
- Possess computer and report writing skills
