Job Title:  Anti-Money Laundering Analyst (BA2) – 00159734

Job Summary: The Anti-Money Laundering Analyst will primarily;
  • Support the Country MLRO in implementing a robust AML/ KYC, ABC and Sanctions Regime.
  • Implement AML compliance processes and methodology as prescribed in the group policy and Country CIPP.
  • Enforce strong KYC standards, commensurate with the country’s local conditions
  • Take lead in the review and monitoring of suspicious transactions and AML Alerts in accordance with the requirements of Barclays Africa framework and local standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. Functional Management:   90%
  • Ensure timely review of the AML alerts produced
  • Responsible for the efficient review of the AML alerts as per the EM defined six pillars for alert disposition and ensure effective record retention
  • Ensure adequate and complete resolution of the AML alerts when closing the alert without SAR reporting
  • In charge of effective and timely SAR reporting
  • Effective and timely reporting of KYC / AML and sanctions MIS, in country and to MLRO
  • Offer full support to the business in AML, sanctions and KYC related queries.
2. Business Coordination: 10%
  • Maintain excellent relationships with the business team to ensure achievement of business goals.
  • Ensure prompt and adequate compliance responses and support provided to the business
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should possess an advanced knowledge of the EM AML/KYC/Sanctions/Pep’s Policies and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, comfortable with numbers, MIS
  • Highly proficient in report writing
  • The applicant should have comprehensive banking market knowledge and possess a high level of innovation
  • Detailed understanding of the Ugandan Market operations
  • Exhaustive knowledge of business functional areas
  • Excellent Analytical skills
  • Excellent Communication skills & Interpersonal sensitivity
  • The candidate should be action & result oriented
  • High degree of Resilience
  • Excellent Planning and organizational Skills
