Job Title:Accountant
Longhorn Publishers, a leading firm with a strong presence in Eastern Africa region whose core business is publishing and distributing educational and leisure publications.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for posting of stock receipts.
  • Raising and posting customers’ invoices.
  • Raising and posting credit notes.
  • In charge of stock reconciliations.
  • Reconciliation of customers’ accounts.
  • Compiling and preparing of sales, debtors, stocks and collections reports for management use.
  • In charge of receipting all cheques and cash received.
  • Ensuring Banking of all receipts.
  • Paying petty cash.
  • Verification of petty cash vouchers before payment and putting together petty cash claims for reimbursement.
  • In charge of  payment vouchers.
  • Review of P&T claims before reimbursement and preparation of the payment vouchers.
  • Filing of monthly PAYE and NSSF returns.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Company.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and CPA (UG)
  • At least three years’ progressive relevant experience
  • Highly knowledgeable in ERP and Microsoft Office packages.
  • Knowledge of Navision an added advantage
  • Possess the ability to work with minimum supervision
  • The applicant must be available immediately.
