Job Title:Driver (2 Vacancies)
The National Drug Authority (NDA) is an autonomous body which was established by the National Drug Policy and Authority Act Cap 206 , Laws of Uganda (2000 Edition) to regulate Human and Veterinary Medicines and other healthcare products. NDA’s mandate is to ensure quality, safety and efficacy of human and veterinary medicines and other healthcare products through the regulation and control of their production, importation, distribution and use.
Job Summary: The jobholders will mainly drive motor vehicles belonging to NDA in a safe and economical manner, ensure the assigned vehicle is kept clean and in sound condition and; perform tasks related to driving in accordance with NDA vehicle management policies and procedures
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive NDA vehicles, safely to avoid accidents and ensure safe arrival of authorized passengers and delivery items to respective destinations as instructed.
- Ensure that the assigned vehicle is always kept clean in order to uphold the image of the organization and for the convenience of the users.
- Notify the Head Driver of defects and faults on the vehicles to ensure that faults are attended to in time to keep the assigned vehicles in sound condition at all times
- Promptly deliver all mail to various destinations as instructed and maintain record in the delivery book
- Maintain appropriate vehicle usage records to guide decisions regarding utilization of NDA vehicles
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants must hold an “A” Level with a pass in English& Mathematics at “O” level.
- Possess clean valid driving license for light and heavy commercial vehicles
- Training in defensive driving is essential
- At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar job in a reputable organization
- Demonstrable aptitude for teamwork
- Willingness to take instructions
- Strictly time management skills
- Highly flexible to switch assignments as required
- Possess the ability to communicate effectively in English
- High level integrity and confidentiality
- Additional training in Customer Care is an added advantage
