Job Title: Air Traffic Management Officer (Trainee) 12 Vacancies

Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is a corporate body responsible for the regulation of Civil Aviation in Uganda. It manages Entebbe International Airport and 13 other aerodromes upcountry. CAA carries out its work in conformity with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPS). The Authority now plans to recruit suitably qualified Ugandans of impeccable integrity and commitment to fill the following positions in its establishment.

Job Summary: The CAA Air Traffic Management Officer (Trainees) will provide information, instructions and directions to pilots under his/her control in order to achieve a safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic with the objective of preventing collision.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: The job holders will principally be trained to perform these duties

  • Offer aerodrome control at Airports.
  • Provide flight information service to Pilots
  • Provide alerting Service
  • Originate NOTAMs concerning duty stations
  • Alert Rescue and Crash Fire Services whenever necessary in accordance with local instructions and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicants for the Air Traffic Management Officer (Trainee) jobs should hold good university degrees with an Honours class with a bias in any of the following disciplines: Mathematics, Physics, Geography, Statistics and Computer Science (with Sciences background).
  • The applicant must have obtained at least a credit in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Geography at O’ Level and should be computer literate.
  • The applicants must be residents and ready to stay in Entebbe, work shifts including weekends and public holidays.
  • The applicant must be ready to accept posting to any upcountry aerodrome as and when required.
  • The applicant must be ready to undergo medical examination.
  • Possession of a private Pilot’s License is an added advantage.
