Job Title: Sales and Marketing Manager
Our client in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry seeks to recruit a suitable candidate for the aforementioned vacancy.
Job Summary: The Sales and Marketing Manager will manage the sales of the company’s products, through accomplishing business development activities by developing marketing opportunities and plans, implementing sales plans and managing sales personnel.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accomplishes marketing, sales and human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, training and assigning of sales personnel.
- Assists sales personnel in establishing personal contact and rapport with key clients.
- Achieves marketing and sales operational objectives by planning, developing and implementing field sales action plans.
- Identifies marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements, engaging and keeping rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits and exploring specific needs.
- Collaborates with Managing Director to develop sales strategies to improve market share in all product lines.
- Writes reports to management on customer needs, interests, competitive activities and potential for new products.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Managing Director (MD)
Key Performance Indicators:
- Works in liaison with the Managing Director in establishing and recommending the most realistic sales goals for the company.
- Manages an assigned product line (geographical area) to maximize sales revenues and meet sales goals.
- Manages effective programs to train and manage sales personnel.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Sales Manager should possess a good university degree in marketing or business studies
- At least five years’ experience in Business Development particularly with Fast Moving Consumer Goods companies (FMCG).
- Prior experience in developing marketing and sales strategies
- Financial planning and strategy skills
- Good marketing concepts skills
- Excellent people management skills (good client relations)
- Possess the ability to build and maintain successful distribution networks
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Proven ability to motivate and lead sales teams.
- Flexibility to remote areas as the job may require one to travel upcountry from time to time
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
