About Dfcu:

Dfcu bank is a fast growing commercial bank offering a variety of innovative products and services. DFCU Limited was started by the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) of the United Kingdom and the Government of Uganda through the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) under the name of Development Finance Company of Uganda Limited. Later restructuring brought in DEG (of Germany) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) as equal partners with CDC and UDC, each having a 25% stake in the company. Its objective was to support long-term development projects whose financing needs and risk did not appeal to the then existing financial commercial lending institutions.

Job Summary: The Manager, E-Banking will support Head of Operations in ensuring efficient and effective administration of the electronic Banking functions and that they conform to the standards of quality service.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Regularly review E-Banking service log reports to identify point of service failures for corrective action to be taken in a timely manner.
  • Regular proactive review of E-banking reconciliations reports, to ensure reconciliations are up to date and all transaction errors detected are resolved.
  • Prepare correspondences and send reports to branches on trends, usage and performance of ail E-banking products and services.
  • Responsible for developing procedures and processes for all Electronic banking products and services in line with regulatory and operating policies.
  • Periodically review processes and procedures to identify process gaps and implement system enhancements for all E-banking products.
  • Regular review of commission accounts for all E-banking products and services.
  • Set performance targets for staff and monitor performance against these.
  • Keenly track and proactively review service level agreements with both internal and external service providers who support and maintain all e-banking functions.
  • Prepare and submit annual Opex budget to the Head of Operations for incorporation into the departmental budget.
  • Build the capacity of operations team through regular training on all E-banking products to increase operational efficiency.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant for the Banking opportunity should hold a university Degree with at least five years banking experience.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of customer needs and expectation on E-banking processes and controls.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and multi-task well to ensure accurate and timely completion of all tasks and projects.
  • Have a thorough understanding of Banking processes and systems.
  • Possess the ability to deal with problems of high complexity which have a variety of possible solutions.
  • Computer literacy skills regarding office support applications such as Ms Excel and Word.
  • Past experience in online banking, ATM and card base support is essential.
  • Self-motivated and be able to work under pressure.
  • Managerial skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Good people management skills.
  • Strong investigative and analytical skills.
