About Us:
The Embassy of Ireland is a diplomatic mission that represents the economic, political, cultural and social interests of the Government of Ireland in Uganda. It is responsible for implementing and overseeing Irish Aid Uganda Development Programme, catering for the consular needs of Irish citizens in Uganda and promoting cultural interaction between Ireland and Uganda.
Job Summary: The HIV/AIDS advisor will be required to manage the HIV/ AIDS programme in accordance with agreed institutional standards of programme/grant management, lead on the Embassy’s engagement in national level policy dialogue and external representation on HIV, Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and related issues, drawing on learning from Karamoja. In addition the advisor will provide a support role on strengthening HIV mainstreaming across the programme; ensure documentation and sharing of learning from the HIV programme including with the Irish Aid network of health and HIV/AIDS advisors; identify strategic research gaps; advise management on new research and learning emerging nationally, regionally and internationally as well as manage and monitor the implementation of the Embassy HIV/AIDS Work place policy.
