Job – Human Resource officer at Mota-Engil

Job Title: HR Officer

NFT Consult, a leading HR Consultancy firm, seeks to recruit for it valuable client,  Mota-Engil is a multidisciplinary construction company that has had a relationship with Africa.  NFT Human Resource Solutions are customer tailored per industry requirements and are geared towards increased cost savings, process improvement leading to improved efficiency and effectiveness yet simultaneously strengthening quality and control of resources.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • In charge of staff recruitment and staffing logistics
  • Responsible for performance management and improvement tracking systems
  • Employee orientation, development, and training logistics and recordkeeping
  • Assisting with employee relations
  • Creating schedules for transport and logistics department
  • Responsible for managing company employee communication
  • Compensation and benefits administration and recordkeeping
  • Employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting
  • Maintaining and updating employee files and the HR filing system
  • Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR office
  • Assist in Labor Law related queries
  • Assist in License and Compliance matters
  • Establishing and revising work methods, forms, formats, and standards to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The HR Officer should hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject
  • At least three years’ experience in an HR position (assistant, officer, manager)
  • Good knowledge and understanding and practical knowledge of employment law
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detailed knowledge of Uganda Labor Laws
  • Highly conversant with City Council payment procedures, deadlines
  • Possess the ability to determine work priorities.
  • Ability to meet schedules and deadlines of the work area
  • Organized and methodical approach to administration and record keeping
  • Computer literate with excellent Excel skills
  • SAP HR user knowledge is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Past exposure and experience of supporting managers across a variety of departments at different levels in all aspects of HR and training
