The Islamic university in Uganda counselor Mrs. Nakimuli Sumaya argues all students of Islamic university to come and utilize her services because she is there to serve the student fraternity.
She has the working experience of 12 years. Despite the fact that the office is there, students have gone ahead not to come for services in her offices. According to her, students normally goes there during the examination time when they are stressed up over tuition, year one students who go there mostly for registration period.
She went ahead lamenting that students do fear to come for guidance because the issues which they suffer from is relationship problems which is highly restricted at this campus and it makes students not to go for counseling fearing that their issues may be taken to the Da’awa council which may lead to their dismissal from the campus.
According to Mugoya Yusuf a third-year law student confirmed that he has ever visited the office when he had tuition problems and family related problem, but due to the potentials of the university counselor, he was able to over come the situation.
However yusuf said that the counsellor worked to him well and his mental health came to normal and he is now stress free guy as he gives more information in the story;
However, some students at the campus says that it is not necessary to go at the counselor because they can settle their problem as they say.
According to Bakulimya Alaisa a student of year two faculty of education says she never visited the office of counselor yet she knows where and when she has mental heath problems she can cry,read the quran or sleep than going to the office as she explains in the audio below;
According to Buninye Rashida a student of law year two says she has never visted the office of counselor because she knows what to do when has stress and so no need of going the for counselling but she encouraged those who go their to continue because every one has his or her own way of solving problems as she detailed in the audio.
