Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

About US:

Fiber Foods offers food companies and chefs dehydrated jackfruit from family farmers in rural communities in Uganda. The dried young jackfruit is the perfect ingredient for a plant-based meal, reducing meat consumption.

Job Summary:  As an interim Accountant at Fiber Foods, you will be responsible for managing part of the financial administration, as well as supporting the administration of a Joint Venture that will be established in the future.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Monthly reporting

  • Conducting monthly ledger closings
  • Ensuring intercompany accounts are accurate
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Overseeing stock counts and accounts payable
  • Booking and depreciating assets
  • Creating cash flow forecasts on a quarterly basis
  • Generating reports and preparing financial statements (P&L/BS/CF)
  • Conducting additional monthly checks, recording any inconsistencies to assist with reconciling inaccuracies in the system
  • Prepare for yearly accounts/audits, and preparing and sending sales invoices.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate should have bookkeeping experience
  • Previous experience with QuickBooks and payroll
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel & Word)
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
