Human Resource and Administration Officer Job – Eco Concrete Limited

Eco Concrete Limited was incorporated in 2016 with a vision to create innovative solutions for the construction industry in Uganda and beyond. Our business model is run on a premise that involves all stake holders, adapting contract forms to commence narratives in Sub-Saharan Africa, and leading with knowledge of construction technologies. Our mandate is to be active role players in solution creation in construction development. The company seeks to add value to the massive construction development currently taking place in the country.

Job Summary:  The Human Resource and Administration Officer (HRAO) is mainly responsible for implementing human resources policies, overseeing employee welfare as well as ensuring that Eco Concrete Limited code of conduct is adhered to by all staff. In this role, the HRAO also oversees administration functions.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Suitable candidates fill approved vacant positions in a timely manner
  • Employee leave is accurately maintained and absenteeism is eliminated
  • Employee claims and remuneration is accurately computed and communicated
  • Performance appraisals are conducted and communicated in a timely manner
  • Appropriate staff development activities are identified, conducted and evaluated
  • Employee grievances and disciplinary issues are resolved as quickly as possible
  • Employee movements and exits are processed and communicated in an accurate and timely manner
  • Work place EHS procedures are complied with at all times and incidents are reported in a timely manner
  • Employee records are accurately, orderly and confidentially maintained.
  • Staff enquiries are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Office building and environs are conducive for staff to work
  • Company assets and physical resources are tracked and maintained in good condition
  • Company records are stored in an orderly manner
  • HR and admin reports are informative, proactive and timely.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a University degree in human resource management or degree in related field (essential).
  • At least two years of experience in similar position i.e. executing human resource management and administration functions for an organization with predominantly field-based staff (essential).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in usage of computers, MS Office applications, business and communication tools.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to travel out of station regularly.
