President Yoweri Museveni has thanked the Chinese Telecommunications Solutions Company, Huawei Technologies Company Ltd, for donating a multi-media tracking system to the Uganda Government.

He paid the tribute at State House, Entebbe where he received the donation from the Huawei Vice President for Africa and the Middle East Region, Mr. Li Dafeng.

President Museveni was impressed with the performance of the equipment basing on the video demonstration presented.

The equipment and related services are valued at US$750,000 (seven hundred fifty thousand dollars).

The Huawei Vice President, Mr. Dafeng, informed President Museveni that the ultra-modern end-to-end multi-media tracking system significantly reduces the critical mission response time as it has the capacity to handle emergencies and will go a long way in providing more security to the country.

The Managing Director of Huawei Technologies (Uganda) Company Ltd, Mr. Radoslaw Kedzia, signed the hand over certificate on behalf of his company while the Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Ms. Jennipher Musisi signed on behalf of the Uganda Government.

President Museveni and the Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Mr. Zhao Yali, witnessed the signing ceremony.

Huawei’s numerous solutions products, including mobile and wireless communications, ATM, data communications, video conferencing, have been deployed in over 100 countries.

Huawei is based in Shenzhen, China. It also operates in Latin America with offices in Chile, Brazil, Peru and Venezuela.
