Calculating your Admission weights as an S.6 vacist can be a difficult process. Each university has its own set of requirements and formulas for what determines a student’s admission weight.
On Friday, the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) released the results for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), sparking celebrations throughout the country but also leaving many uncertain about their next steps.
However, you can use this guide to help you calculate your weights quickly and effectively!
Typically, public universities require at least two principal passes at UACE for admission to degree programs, and one principal pass as a minimum for several diploma programs.
However, some private universities may accept a single principal pass for direct admission to undergraduate programs.
As per usual, public universities have established specific cut-off points, commonly referred to as “weights,” for various academic programs, which are determined by the applicant’s performance at both O’level and A’level.
