Hereditary Horror Movie Preview and Trailer

Hereditary is a 2018 American supernatural horror film written and directed by Ari Aster, in his feature directorial debut. It stars Toni ColletteAlex WolffMilly ShapiroAnn Dowd, and Gabriel Byrne, and follows a family that begins to be haunted following the death of their reclusive grandmother. The film premiered on January 21, 2018 at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival in the Midnight section and is scheduled to be released in the United States on June 8, 2018

The film focuses on Annie (Collette) and her family that consists of husband Steve (Byrne), son Peter, and daughter Charlie. When Annie’s mother dies after a long period of dementia, strange things start to occur. Annie, who is a sleepwalking miniature artist, never had a good relation with her mother. The deceased family matriarch was a reclusive woman who had an interest in spiritualism and who held a soft spot for Charlie, a troublesome child with autistic behavior. After the death of her grandmother, Charlie starts to see strange things and turns to odd behavior. When Peter takes his younger sister to a school party against her will but on his mother’s request, things take a fatal turn after Charlie is about to suffocate from a nut allergy and Peter rushes to the hospital with his sister. Subsequently, Annie tries to come to terms with the death of her mother by joining a support group where she meets a helpful, but somewhat strange woman.
